BLAZE ENSEMBLE

Blaze Ensemble is a London based chamber ensemble, whose performances range from works for small wind and string ensemble to chamber orchestra. The ensemble was formed in 1996 and gave its inaugural concert at St. James’s, Piccadilly with a performance of Dohnanyi’s Sextet Op. 37 and Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio K498. Blaze Ensemble performs in established lunchtime recital venues in central London and currently gives up to eight concerts each season.
Recent performances have taken place at Blackheath Halls, Milton Court, The Old Hall at Lincoln’s Inn, St Bride’s, St James’s Piccadilly, All Saints Fulham and St Olave's, Hart St. EC3.
In addition to performing staples from the wind and string chamber ensemble repertoire, Blaze Ensemble has commissioned new works from the UK’s most established contemporary composers. These include London premieres of Chris Gunning’s Concertino for Flute and small orchestra, Adrian Sutton’s ‘Montana Peaks’ and Paul Pritchard’s ‘Imaginarium’, ‘Two Irish Songs and Other Dances’, ‘Fire Dances’ and the revised version of the semi staged work ‘Green Man Ho!’
